It is definitely a different culture

I had a Doctors visit today. Just a checkup and an op to meet the local guy. Here is roughly how one part of the conversation went. This did not happen the last time I discussed my beer consumption with a US Doctor.

Dr. : Do you drink

Me: yes mostly beer

Dr. : how many a day

Me: 1 or 2

Me: well maybe 3

Dr. : Do you ever reach 6

Me: Not often. Maybe 4.

Dr: Well thats OK then. Your OK having 21-24 a week. Maybe have one day a week off it if you can.

Me: sure Doc. No worries, I’ll continue the good work.
